Our office were appointed to lead the design and consultant team and oversee all the restoration and alteration works to this historic building and icon of Melbourne by the City of Melboune from the sketch design through to the end of the construction phase.

The works consisted of investigative work and replacement of the two large skylights roofs over the Program and Lap Pool together with the replacement of all the lining boards and insulation. Full structural assessment and repairs to supporting trusses, cracked brickwork and structural supports requiring replacement. Structural repairs to the 3 different shaped turrets and replacement of all the shingles, finials and barley twists in Rheinzink with a specialised roofing contractor.

Investigations work to the mechanical units and electrical systems for a full upgrade of all the mechanical system throughout the building. Brick repointing and internal and external painting with close consultation with heritage advisors and painting specialists.
